| Tongchuan has more than 30 kinds of industries including the main ones like coal, building materials, pottery and porcelain, aluminum smelting, textile , machinery and electricity, medicine , food etc. to implement the strategy of making Tongchuan city stronger, it adheres to strengthen the pillar industries, breed developing industries, reform and promote traditional industry ,the adding value will be increased by 12.5% in2006 ,14% in 2010 and 13% in 2020 , making up more than 50% of the total GDP of Tongchuan .
Aluminum industry is one of pollar industries in Tongchuan. At present , the annual output of electrolytic aluminum is about 60.000 tons. According to the general idea of “Making aluminum bigger and electricity stronger as well as industrial chain longer”, tongchuan actively implements the joint production of “coal, electricity and aluminum”, which makes the aluminum industry become the most active industrial group.
Tongchuan is the most important building material base in Northwest area, the proved deposit of limestone in Tongchuan is 462 million tons. The production capacity of cement is 6 million tons by the end of 2002 ,the annual output of cemdnet of whole city is up to 10 million thons by 2006.
Coal industry is the traditional industry in tongchuan. The proved deposit of raw coal is 2.56 billion tons. At present, apart from making the coal mine expand ,actively exploring the new coal field with one million tons capacity, the annual output of raw coal will reach 15 million tons by 2006.
Tongchuan has a long history in producing pottery and porcelain. Tongchuan city has abundant ceramic clay and purple clay .the production scale of daily use ceramic, industrial ceramic and architectural ceramic is the biggest in five provinces of northwest area. According to the reform for ceramic industry, the main important thing for ceramic is to consolidate daily use ceramic, develop the architectural ceramic, expand the production of insulator ceramic, making the ceramic industry full of vigor and vitality.
Food and medicine industry are new developing one in Tongchuan with tremendous strength. At present, we emphasis on the industry of apple, milk, walnut ,chiliastic, making good use of the local feature farm produce and by-products such as fruit wine, fruit slice, fruit juice, walnut oil, chili jam ,buckwheat noodles etc, so as to develop the pollution-free natural food and green healthy food. Meanwhile ,centralized Sun Simiao whois called medicine king, characterized by nature medicine planting and deep processing, and try to build Tongchuan as a medicinal town gathering the sight-seeing of Yaowang hill, plantation of Chinese medicinal herbs, preparation of modem medicine.
Tongchuan has abundant tourism resources. Yuhua palace, Yaowang hill , Fragrant hill, Yaozhou kiln Museumhave become the hot tourism route in northern part of Shaanxi, with the development of tor for old melon days memorizing of team engine, ceramic body-making by potter, summer resort, mystery tour to coal mine, leisure tour at village etc. the tourism industry will become one of pillar industries in Tongchuan. |
